Born in 1999, Paul McLaren is photographer based in New York City. He is currently a senior in high school at the Packer Collegiate Institute, and will attend Wesleyan University next fall. He has studied at many institutions including the International Center of Photography, Parsons Academy of Design, and the San Francisco Art Institute. Paul is very ambitious, creative, and passionate about art. He communicates his unique perspective on the world through photography and other mediums by creating work that demonstrates an intelligent and effective balance of concept and aesthetic. Paul believes in the emotional and psychological power of art and its ability to give valuable insight on humanity and on his own self. Paul's work is often very conceptual, dealing with philosophical questions of existence and purpose, and political relationships. His work examines identity through several lenses like race, youth, sexuality and family. With a firm belief in the power of art, Paul continues to grow as an individual, and ultimately wants to use his talent to invoke change and create a better world. Don't hesitate to contact Paul for any commissions, collaborations or parties.
